A B O U T

Cu [pronounced koo], the symbol for Copper, is a Seattle based ceramic studio founded by me, Jacqueline Gow. Cu surrounds us - it is in our bodies and in our built and natural environments. One of the oldest metals known to man, I love incorporating this vital element into my work. 

Origins

A couple of rainy Septembers ago, on a whim, a longtime friend and I registered for a pottery class. It was at that studio - in the shadow of Seattle's Space Needle - where I learned to throw and create on a pottery wheel. My connection to ceramics was instant, and that passion led to the creation of Cu Studios. 

Photos of me and my work were captured by a very dear, extremely supportive friend, Lisa Thiele. Thank you Lisa for sharing your many talents, and for gifting me my first handmade, ceramic bowl that continues to inspire my work.
